C3 Youth Group tours Reformation Bible College!

The youth group were treated to a day of exploration of a historic college where the teens and their parents were given access to ask questions and discover future possibilities.

When you see the youth this Sunday, ask them about their trip!

What is the Reformation Bible College?

    From the college website:

Dr. R.C. Sproul founded Reformation Bible College in 2011. Throughout his career, Dr. Sproul dreamed of establishing a college where the system of theology found in Scripture and outlined in the Reformed confessions could be taught by a trusted faculty to the next generation. The early Ligonier Valley Study Center had been an actual physical place for students to come and sit under the teaching of Dr. Sproul and other Reformed theologians. Dr. Sproul’s dream was to build a college that would be a place where students could once again come and be discipled face to face. A trip to Geneva offered the final inspiration. Seeing the academy started by John Calvin, impressed upon Dr. Sproul the importance of theological higher education for the next generation.

After much prayer and labor, the dream became a reality. Reformation Bible College opened its doors in the Fall of 2011, welcoming the first class of 27 students. In the Fall of 2019, RBC dedicated its new building and expanded campus. We look back in gratitude for the faithfulness of the Lord to RBC, its staff, faculty, and students. We also look forward in anticipation of what the Lord will continue to do through the ministry of Reformation Bible College.

  • Five Solas: Soli Deo Gloria

    Five Solas: Soli Deo Gloria

Only if our salvation is by grace alone will God alone receive all the glory. If there is something of our own we can claim, then we no longer boast in Christ alone. But if he is the author and finisher of our salvation then he alone is to be magnified for his sovereign grace. As Christians, these solas should cultivate an attitude of total humility. Whether it is in our secular vocations or our praise on a Sunday morning, to God alone be the glory.

    Membership Interest Meeting

When Jesus Christ called us to Himself for salvation, he also called us to his community of faith: the church. When the church is healthy, we should look like the early church in the book of Acts. In this early community of followers resources and daily lives were shared so freely that the surrounding culture looked in and wondered what on earth was going on there. At this meeting, we unpack what this looks like with Confessors of Christ Church.

If you are not a member of C3 and would like to know the story of this church and it’s leaders, this is the meeting for you!

Want to look things over before the meeting? No worries! You can do that here: Membership Info

  • Youth Group Week of 2/17

    Youth Group Week of 2/17

Had a great Bible Study this past Friday! This weeks memory verse — Psalm 90:2

We jumped right into our first attribute of the series — the Aseity of God. That’s a fancy Latin word for the self-existence of God.

We discovered how the Bible tells us that God has always existed and everything required for His existence is found within Himself. He is self-existent and self-sufficient. (Psalm 90:2)

We looked at the contrasting side of the coin, that we, meaning all of creation, are neither of these things. We are 100%, completely dependent on God to exist and continue existing. Hearing from R.C. Sproul, “If anything exists, then something has always existed. If there was ever absolutely nothing, then nothing could possibly be now because you cannot get something out of nothing.”

Understanding that God does not need us or anything outside of Himself, we asked the question, “What’s the point then?”. Why did He create us if we offer nothing that fulfills Him in any way as though He were lacking something? The truth as seen in scripture is that He did it merely out of His good and perfect pleasure. His satisfaction was seen in creation as He said it was “very good”, not “Ah that’s better. Now I have everything I need.”

We then looked at the incredible wonder of His special love to those who belong to Him. That good pleasure is even greater than towards His general creation. Zephaniah 3:17 paints such a beautiful picture of God rejoicing over His people and singing over them with joy. Such an incredible picture of someone who never needed us in the first place!!

The Aseity of God shows us the greatness of who God is and how big He truly is and in spite of that He cares about our minuscule existence. Please take some time to talk to your kids about this and how it might have changed their perspective on God or perhaps just increased their wonder of Him. Encourage questions and seeking out the answers in scripture and prayer.

Can’t wait for our next Bible Study as we talk about the Spirituality of God.

Message Josiah for questions or how to get involved!
